We are a team of eclectic, creative, hard-working painters, jewelers, photographers and crafts-people. We share a fantastic, sunny, ground-level retail space in a 145 year-old building. Besides displaying our work, we also share the work of operating the Collective, so no matter when you arrive, you'll meet one of us -- and we are so glad to show you around!
We are proud to be associated with these artists and makers, all of whom display their work in the Collective. All work in the Collective, too, (save one esteemed emeritus*) -- come meet them!

“There is Beauty in Simplicity.
I design jewelry out of passion for the natural beauty of Baltic amber. All amber gems are hand polished and accompanied by the subtle presence of sterling and 22k gold."

"I want to define the architectural and figural landscape with geometry, subtle values, sometimes idiosyncratic colors, and by flattening the picture plane. These images are identifiable, but leave out the prosaic, trite and clichéd...Sometimes a wry sense of humor is present, sometimes privacy, sometimes serenity, but always emotion and deep feeling."

"My work often reflects my life in the woods on the coast of Maine. I’m inspired by the controlled chaos of the natural world: movement in the air, on the ground and in the water. I seek to find and capture nostalgia and humor in both the natural and human worlds. And I love making pots that people can use every day with a smile! "

Ken Wise has been carving spoons, turning bowls and making Wildlife Art in Mid-Coast Maine for many years. He enjoys sharing the fun and challenges of working with wood through classes and private instruction. Ken can typically be found at Lemont Thursdays from 1:30 to 5:00pm.

My textile art quilts are interpretations of real places and I hope to capture the attention of the viewer by creating a feeling or familiar place to connect with."

Sometimes, though, a project comes along with such active, graceful curves, it can't be resisted!

My jewelry creations are inspired by the natural world around me here on the beautiful coast of Maine. I hope to bring delight to each person who wears my jewelry.
My passion for working with silver started 7 years ago with a class at Maine College of Art. I have been working hard at developing the skills of soldering, annealing and hammering silver ever since! Many of my pieces feature the technique of fold-forming which involves heating the silver to make it pliable enough to be folded, then shaping, reheating, and unfolding. I use finely polished hammers to apply texture to the surface of the metal to imitate the shimmering light on the ocean, the subtle veins of a leaf, or the textures of a flower. The tiny snips and scraps from the metalworking process are heated with a torch, hammered, and polished, to create recycled solid silver pebbles which become yet other jewelry pieces. Freshwater pearls, seaglass, and semiprecious stones accent my work.

Nicole is a life-long, self-taught artist. After taking a break for marriage, kids and work, she returned to art in earnest in 2016. She works with waterfronts, country landscapes, nature ... and the occasional penguin. In recent months Nicole's been inspired to direct her skills in an abstract direction as well -- her range is on display at The Collective

For the past few years I have divided my time between Florida and Maine. Having started silversmithing and lapidary work in about 2011 after a long medical career, I now have 2 studios. While in Maine I am inspired by the natural beauty of the area and have been creating botanically themed pieces in addition to my other hand fabricated work. I like to incorporate stones, some of which I have cut myself. Although I may not be physically present during part of the year, my work will be available through the Lemont Block Collective, and I am happy to collaborate with you to design custom pieces.

"The power of brilliant colors and the magic that occurs during the felting process makes beautiful art. Lambs wool, recycled sari silk, embroidery and stitching are the building blocks. Water, soap, hand rolling and rubbing transform the materials. It is a pleasure to bring this visually stunning art to life."

I find endless inspiration in all that nature has to offer in Maine. My paintings record passages in time, while examining how sunlight illuminates the landscape. Maine's varied scenery is brought into focus by intensifying the natural colors and using bold brush strokes in my work.
This diverse landscape begs to be captured, and highlights Maine's undeniable beauty. I also enjoy painting still life subjects that embody quintessential coastal Maine. Typically, these objects are found on my daily excursions. My intention is to provoke fond memories of the viewer’s past where the landscape or still life connects them to a time and place they hold dear to their heart.

Fewer are familiar with his tea lights, driftwood sculptures, and shore-themed mobiles and stabiles (tables-standing mobiles). These delicate and mesmerizing works, made of driftwood, shells and other found materials, are contemplative, and beautiful -- and popular items here at the Collective. Chris also offers several of his cookbooks here. All are signed and if you come by when Chris is working at the Collective he will gladly personalize them for you!

The original photographs and pastel paintings are inspired by the rich and diverse mural, that is Maine. I find the challenging medium of pastels to be a perfect reflection for the eclectic series of contradictions our state embodies. I continue to explore and evolve as an artist and find great joy in the process.

Sally and Middy also collaborate on dishtowels, placemats and table runners, all of which are available at the Collective.
