"I want to define the architectural and figural landscape with geometry, subtle values, sometimes idiosyncratic colors, and by flattening the picture plane. These images are identifiable, but leave out the prosaic, trite and clichéd...Sometimes a wry sense of humor is present, sometimes privacy, sometimes serenity, but always emotion and deep feeling."

"My work often reflects my life in the woods on the coast of Maine. I’m inspired by the controlled chaos of the natural world: movement in the air, on the ground and in the water. I seek to find and capture nostalgia and humor in both the natural and human worlds. And I love making pots that people can use every day with a smile! "

My jewelry creations are inspired by the natural world around me here on the beautiful coast of Maine. I hope to bring delight to each person who wears my jewelry.
My passion for working with silver started 7 years ago with a class at Maine College of Art. I have been working hard at developing the skills of soldering, annealing and hammering silver ever since! Many of my pieces feature the technique of fold-forming which involves heating the silver to make it pliable enough to be folded, then shaping, reheating, and unfolding. I use finely polished hammers to apply texture to the surface of the metal to imitate the shimmering light on the ocean, the subtle veins of a leaf, or the textures of a flower. The tiny snips and scraps from the metalworking process are heated with a torch, hammered, and polished, to create recycled solid silver pebbles which become yet other jewelry pieces. Freshwater pearls, seaglass, and semiprecious stones accent my work.

For the past few years I have divided my time between Florida and Maine. Having started silversmithing and lapidary work in about 2011 after a long medical career, I now have 2 studios. While in Maine I am inspired by the natural beauty of the area and have been creating botanically themed pieces in addition to my other hand fabricated work. I like to incorporate stones, some of which I have cut myself. Although I may not be physically present during part of the year, my work will be available through the Lemont Block Collective, and I am happy to collaborate with you to design custom pieces.

"The power of brilliant colors and the magic that occurs during the felting process makes beautiful art. Lambs wool, recycled sari silk, embroidery and stitching are the building blocks. Water, soap, hand rolling and rubbing transform the materials. It is a pleasure to bring this visually stunning art to life."

This diverse landscape begs to be captured, and highlights Maine's undeniable beauty. I also enjoy painting still life subjects that embody quintessential coastal Maine. Typically, these objects are found on my daily excursions. My intention is to provoke fond memories of the viewer’s past where the landscape or still life connects them to a time and place they hold dear to their heart.

The original photographs and pastel paintings are inspired by the rich and diverse mural, that is Maine. I find the challenging medium of pastels to be a perfect reflection for the eclectic series of contradictions our state embodies. I continue to explore and evolve as an artist and find great joy in the process.

While it's never been her "day job" it's definitely become her day passion to turn fiber into beautiful wearables.
Her hats and scarves can each incorporate 20-30 yarns, and her "kiddie kimonos" are just as cute as a spotted pig. She's also rather addicted to taking pictures, many of which turn into wall and desk calendars.

A serious and prolonged woodworking hobby began in 1975 when John started building a house for his family. Learning by trial and error as he went, the home was eventually finished, and the next logical step was getting it furnished. Over the years, has made 44 pieces of furniture for his house.
He describes himself as a “compulsive maker” working almost daily in his spacious workshop, constantly perfecting his methods.
John tries to use native wood as much as possible. While he makes many wooden pieces, small to large, making tables and cabinets are his favorite projects. The table pictured here took 2.5 weeks of 8 hour days yet is a very affordable piece.
“I’m not in it for the money,” he says. His greatest satisfaction is having people appreciate and use what he makes.

Lynn Bolduc is a stained-glass artist, dietitian and living organ donor mentor whose love of glass was born during her commutes to the University of Maine in the 1980’s; Driving through Canaan, Maine she discovered an antique store full of vibrant windows and colorful stained-glass panels.
Twenty-five years later, during her nutrition career and while nearing an empty nest, she participated in an adult education class that fueled this long dormant passion. Her instructor later would say Lynn was one of the most prolific, talented students she had taught.
Lynn likes to incorporate objects into her pieces such as vintage plates, bicycle parts and agates and loves to make panels of the fruits and vegetables that she spent years trying to get people to eat more of. She frames special pieces in 200+ year old Stetson Maine barn board shared from a dear friend. She loves that glass is constantly changing in different light settings and looks different with each season brightening any room it occupies.
